First & Second Grade

- Social Dance: Students will be learning a variety of dances and rhythms that correlate to the state standards. Some of the types of dance they will be learning include: Polka rhythms, Macarena, YMCA, and a flash mob created by Mrs. Diaz.
Third-Sixth Grade
APRIL 2016
Third Grade:
- Polka rhythms, learning dance terms and concepts, creative dance and a flash mob will be created and performed at various points in the day at random.
- Baseball: Students will work using baseball and softball gloves with throwing and catching, fielding the ball, batting and various baseball oriented games
- Track and Field: Students will practice basic track and field skills including: relay running, track warm up drills, proper starts, long jump, and shot put throwing( with modified equipment).
Fourth Grade:
- Students will learn how to work with a partner as they practice square dancing as well as learning a flash mob and participating in a creative movement where they will make up a portion of a dance.
- Baseball: Students will work using baseball and softball gloves with throwing and catching, fielding the ball, batting and various baseball oriented games and drills.
- Track and Field: Students will practice basic track and field skills including: relay running, track warm up drills, proper starts, long jump, and shot put throwing( with modified equipment).
Fifth and Sixth Grade:
- Students will practice a variety of line and folk dances both with and without a partner or small group. Students will also work together to help create a dance using a variety of movement patterns and rhythms.
- Baseball: Students will work using baseball and softball gloves with throwing and catching, fielding the ball, batting and various baseball oriented games and drills.
- Track and Field: Students will practice basic track and field skills including: relay running, track warm up drills, proper starts, long jump, high jump and shot put throwing( with modified equipment).
